HOLY NAME OF JESUS SCHOOL

Principal ~Sr. Kathleen Cummins, R.S.H.M.~

Dear Parents,
We’ve just completed a week celebrating the identity of our school. Each event highlighted a different
aspect of the learning here at Holy Name of Jesus School. The week began with the celebration of the
Eucharist on Saturday evening and concluded with the Father/Special person/Daughter Dance.
The week’s activities were able to be celebrated because of the professional faculty and the energetic
supportive parents. I am grateful for your generosity as you are always ready to give a helping hand.
We are truly blessed!

It is now time for re-registration for the 08/09 School year. New applications are now being accepted
for Pre-K through 8th grade. If any of your friends or neighbors is interested in attending Holy Name,
please have them call the school office for a registration package and a tour of the school.

A special thank you to all the parents of grades 3-8 for keeping their appointment at scheduled parent-teacher
conferences. I count on you to follow up on any recommendations made by the teacher.
As a school we continue to monitor our students’ progress and I am proud of each student’s growth.
As you know, “The Successful Classroom”, takes place every Thursday from 3:15pm to 4:15pm.
This gives students an opportunity to succeed in areas they find difficult. This program gives other students
the opportunity to share their knowledge and be of service to others. The program is monitored by
Mrs. Terrazas, Mrs. Morgan and myself. It promises to be a very effective outreach of students to students.

Lent began this past Wednesday. I encourage all to deepen family prayer life as well as taking advantage
of retreats and sacraments during the Lenten season.

February’s Calendar has a number of events noted. Please keep it handy for any changes in schedule.
The Parish Festival is around the corner. All are asked to give it their support and time.
Raffle tickets can be picked up in the office. Maybe you will be the Grand prize winner of $10,000.
Thank you to those who have signed up to help in the booths during the Festival. We count on everyone’s support.
Let’s make this years festival the best ever. The students really look forward to it.
The spring concert, which is part of the festival, takes place on Sunday Mar 02nd at 1:00pm in Trinity Center.
Ms. Smith is working hard to make the concert a spectacular event.
All students are expected to be in attendance unless a note is written requesting excused absence.

Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,

We are here to Studious, Successful & Spiritual
Peace be with you,
Sr. Kathleen Cummins, R.S.H.M.
